SDE Clinician

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who provides individual counseling, family counseling and case management to families and children living in the Muskegon area. I have worked with children, adults and families as a support, to advocate for needs, connect them to community resources and empower them as they work toward reaching their full potential. I have had extensive experience in group therapy as a facilitator of the Criminal Sexual Conduct groups and Substance Abuse groups through a contract with the Michigan Department of Corrections. I am currently providing therapeutic intervention at Servicios de Esperanzas, LLC to individuals and families residing in the Muskegon area. I worked with youth through a school based mental health program at the Teen Health Center located at Muskegon High School. The Teen Health Center is an extension of Hackley Community Care Center were I was employed as a Behavioral Health Consultant which included providing general counseling services to patients of Hackley Community Care Center. I graduated from Michigan State University in 2001 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with an additional major in psychology. In 2010 I obtained a Master of Arts degree in community counseling from Western Michigan University’s Counselor Education program which is CACREP accredited. I have training and experience in several modalities of treatment such as Play Therapy, Sex Offender Treatment, Trauma Focused CBT, CBT for pain management, Perinatal Mood Disorders, crisis intervention and suicide prevention. I am a current member of the Perinatal Mood Disorder Coalition of Grand Rapids.
